TWO DOWN, ONE TO GO!
Norfolk County Council has written to the parish councils in the area to inform them that the two areas of farmland between Billingford and Bintree (MIN 103 & MIN 106) have been withdrawn by Ennstone Johnston from the minerals site allocation process. This means that these two sites will not go ahead and will remain open countryside.
Unfortunately the Forestry Commission has not done the same, and if their plans go ahead Bintree Woods (MIN 97/WAS 59) could still be destroyed and turned into a waste landfill site. So the fight to save this beautiful piece of Norfolk goes on.

The campaign
Residents working to oppose the destruction of the countryside for mineral extraction and waste landfill have formed the Combined Parishes Group. This meets regularly to exchange information and develop ideas for the campaign. It includes residents of County School, Bintree, Billingford, North Elmham and Broom Green, with representatives of the three parish councils (Bintree, Billingford, North Elmham).
